THE TEMPLE

Let’s take you through an exciting journey of spirituality which led us to build a temple and form a Trust with the intention of serving humanity.

 We welcome you all to Shree Anjaneya Swami temple, Thiruvattar, which is located in the holy and beautiful land of Kanniyakumari District in the State of Tamil Nadu. As we all know, India is the land of miracles and spirituality. Every temple in India is special and each has its own history. Similarly, Shree Anjaneya Swami temple, Thiruvattar has its own history and is associated with lots of miracles. In this small booklet, we are trying to take you through an exciting journey of spirituality that led us to build a temple and form a Trust with the intention of serving humanity.

 The temple, in its, present form, was built in the year 2018 through the divine directions experienced by Mrs.Brinda Sreekumar, a chosen devotee of our Swamiji Santhosh Swamy, commonly called Sathyamamuni Swamikal. This temple is managed by Shri Anjaneyaswami Spiritual Trust. Shri Santhosh Swami is the Founder Trustee and Mrs. Brinda Sreekumar is the Managing Trustee of the Trust.

Thiruvattar - The Sacred Village

 Thiruvattar,situated 6 kilometres north-east of Marthandam town and 30 kms north-west of Nagercoil is a sacred village. The two main rivers ,Pahrali and Kothai surround the village and join in Moovattumugham, resulted in the name Thiru(sacred)+Vatta(surround)+Aru(river) – Thiruvattar. That is, Sacred Land surrounded by rivers.This sacred village is located in Kanyakumari district.

 Kanniyakumari– the temple is dedicated to the virgin goddess Kanniyakumari who eternally protects the country. Legend has it that Goddess Parvathi, in one of her incarnations as Devi Kanya, did penance at this spot to obtain the hand of Lord Shiva. The place is a symbol of unity and sanctity.

 Thanumalayan Temple located in Sucheendram, kanniyakumari district has its religious significance which stems from the fact that the main statue of Linga representSiva(Sthanu), Vishnu (Maal) and Brahma ( Ayan). The Sanskrit work “Suchindrastalamahatmya“ gives a full-fledged legendary account of the origin of this holy abode.

 Sri Adikesava Perumal Temple is located in this village, which is one of the 108 DivyaDesams, is approximately 45 kms away from Kanyakumari.The presiding Vishnu in the form of Anantha Padmanabhan or Adikesava perumal is believed to be older than Padmanabhan swami temple in Thiruvananthapuram. Since Lord Vishnu resides here in a reclining position and is surrounded by rivers, the temple is called as “The Srirangam of Chera Kingdom”. The temple was consecrated by Parasuramaand is admired by Vedavyasa in the sections which deal with temples in Padmapurana.

History of the Temple

 The temple is a great site of Lord Anjaneya and other prominent Gods and Goddesses. The consecration of this temple came out from the dharshan given to Mrs.Brinda Sreekumar by Lord Anjaneya and Devi Chamundi , the Managing Director of Excel Groups of Schools, which is one of the reputed schools in Tamil Nadu.

 Mrs.Brinda, daughter of Mr.Nadesan, Ex MLA belongs to awell established family of grand old tradition which has a temple- Sri Krishna swami temple, kulasekharam established in 1969, has several schools and hospitals to their credit. Her husband, Dr Sreekumar, the chairman and founder of Excel Groups of Schools, is a great visionary who brings and executes International Standard of Education to his village community. Her daughter, MrsAshika Dhiren and son, MrAshwanth are truly real gems and the whole family supports her fully to make her dreams come true.While leading a normal life, she faced tremendous untold miseries. As the Giver of all good things granted her prayers, she got an opportunity to meet Sri Santhosh Swami on 1st September 2013.

Our Divine Guru

 Swamiji belongs to the land of Sri PadmanabhaSwami,Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.He is the one who brought Sri Anjaneya and Goddess, Chamundeswari to this divine land and he is a living legend, who proves how one can dedicate oneself to spirituality even leading Grahastha. He is highly skilled in Astrology and has been doing Astrological predictions for the past 20 years.

 A man of infinite spiritual power, well versed in Mantras, leads and motivates, performs miracles such as levitation, mind-reading, ,curing the incurably sick etc.Within this short span of time, Swamiji had become a beacon of sorts for all on the spiritual path at times and were constantly drawn to the sheer power of his spirit through Yoga , spiritual discourses andBhajans.Swamiji has no system or rituals that need to be followed, it is only a set of practices that he prescribes to each aspirant according to his or her individual nature and abilities.

SHREE ANJANEYA SWAMI TEMPLE, THIRUVATTAR RENOVATION AND FOUNDATION LAYING CEREMONY

  The fame of the Shree Anjaneya Swami Temple situated at Thiruvattar has been spreading far and wide by virtue of many miracles associated with it. In view of the increasing numbers of the devotees, the Temple Trust decided to expand and renovate the present one. At the direction of Swamiji Thavathiru Shree Anjaneya Siddhar (commonly known as Shree Santhosh Swami), the unveiling of the sacred plaques and the foundation stone laying ceremony were held on 5th February, 2023. Many personalities graced the occasion with their august presence.

  At the outset, the Ganapathy Homam and the Foundation Stone poojas were conducted by Gurudev Shri Anjaneya Siddhar. He was gracious enough to lay the sacred Foundation Stone right at the auspicious time. The sacred Plaque of the temple was unveiled by His Excellency Shree P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, the Honourable Governor of Goa. Subsequently, the sacred Plaque of the Dhyanamandapam was unveiled by the Honourable Shree Shripad Yesso Naik, the Minister of State for Tourism& Sports, Shipping and Waterways, and the sacred Plaque of Shree Anjaneya was unveiled by Shree. Pon. Radhakrishnan, the former Union Minister of State.

Shri. Santhosh Swami

Swami belongs to the land of Sri Padmanabha Swami, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He is the one who brought Sri Anjaneya to this divine land and he is a living example of one who proves how one can dedicate oneself to spirituality even leading Grahasta. He is highly skilled in Astrology and has been doing Astrological predictions for the past 20 years. A man of infinite spiritual power, well versed in Manthras gives guidance and practice to recite Hanuman Chalisa, Anjaneya Sahasranama, the Ramayana, Lalita Sahasranama and Kaali Sahasranama to all his devotees.

One of the most powerful spiritual gifts that an ardent devotee can enjoy is Mandra Siddhi. Acquiring Mandra Siddhi requires strenuous efforts as the one who aspires to have it, has to obstain oneself from a number of necessities.

The process involves the Guru’s careful guidance that the aspirant must follow with utmost devotion and dedication. The mantra should be chanted for lakhs of times, while one tenth of which needs to be offered in the form of Homam. The Homam is to attract the God of a particular Siddhi whose powerful presence within the devotee is referred to as Mantra Siddhi. Thereafter, the God grants all the wishes of the devotee who has acquired Mantra Siddhi.

Swamiji is powerful enough to perform important Karmas such as Badha dhosham, dhrishti dhosham, removing the barriers in business, barriers for marriage, childbirth etc.

Mrs. Brinda Sreekumar M.A., M.Ed., MBA

Mrs. Brinda Sreekumar is the Managing Director of Excel Group of Schools, Kanniyakumari Dist. Her husband Dr. Sreekumar is the Chairman of these Schools. Mrs. Brinda Sreekumar’s father is Mr. N. Appu Nadesan, an Ex. MLA. He too runs some educational institutions, including a Yoga and Naturopathy College at Kulasekharam, about 5 Kms from Thiruvattar. Mr. Appu Nadesan, an ardent devotee, built a temple for Lord Krishna. In this spiritual atmosphere, she grew up as a pious girl. The temple is blessed with the Images of many of the Gods and Goddesses. She was devoted to Lord Krishna and Devi Rajarajeswari. There was no Anjaneya Image in the temple and she had no prior knowledge about Him.

After her marriage, her life was centred round her husband’s family and the school. Days were passing uneventfully and happily. Then, there occurred a sudden change in her life. She lost her peace of mind. She yearned for a spiritual Swamiji who could relieve her from mental turmoil.

Dr. Sreekumar Chandrasekharan M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D.

Dr. C. Sreekumar is the founder-Chairman of Excel Group of schools, Thiruvattar, Kanniyakumari District. He hails from a family of farmers. He holds an M.A., in Industrial Economics, MPhil and a Doctorate degree from the University of Madras. With such enviable qualifications, he could have gone to work in an industry or chosen the position of a Professor in a College. But he wanted to serve the society by giving an excellent education to the rural children. He was inspired by the words of Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.

He was not satisfied with the sort of education given to the rural children in his area. He states the reasons for starting the school as follows, “The inspiration to start a school came to me while I was doing my doctoral degree in the University of Madras. Being brought up in a rural background, I was amazed to see the manifold facilities offered by Institutions in the city and the umpteen opportunities available for their placements. It was an eye-opening experience to me. I felt deeply aggrieved over the denial of such splendid infra structure and high-quality education to the people of my area and those of other parts of Tamil Nadu. This rural and urban divide impelled me to establish a unique and exemplary institution at Thiruvattar, my native village”.

Mr. Ashwandh Sreekumar BBA., LLB. (Hons.)

Mr. Ashwandh Sreekumar is the Associate Director of Excel Group of Schools, Kanyakumari District. He completed his BBA LLB from Christ University Bangalore. After his 6 month training from his parents and principals at school, he is now assisting in managing two schools while still pursuing his education. He participates and encourages spiritual activities at the temple.

His technical expertise has helped guide and promote both the school and the trust. He is a good devotee of Swamiji.
